Gruppo Trony, a leading consumer electronics retailer in Italy, operates 30 stores across the central and northern regions. As its business expanded, Trony faced a significant challenge: transforming its fragmented surveillance systems, previously managed by multiple local vendors, into a unified, centralized solution.
The objective was to partner with a single manufacturer capable of providing advanced closed-circuit television (CCTV) technology and expert technical support to achieve system standardization, seamless integration, and efficient management. Trony sought a replicable system for all stores, compatible with existing infrastructure and able to coordinate effectively with security firms. The solution needed to enable centralized management through local and remote control centers, with direct technical support from the manufacturer.
To meet these requirements, LILIN designed a three-phase solution to systematically modernize Trony’s surveillance infrastructure. The initial six-month phase focused on upgrading existing equipment to ensure system stability, providing maintenance support, and fostering effective communication with Trony’s staff to set the stage for subsequent phases. The design phase established a standardized system framework and developed a uniform implementation template to ensure consistency across all stores. The final implementation phase involved store-by-store system installations, supported by continuous configuration and commissioning to ensure seamless transitions and reliable performance.
LILIN deployed a robust infrastructure tailored to Trony’s needs. On the hardware front, 620 contextual surveillance cameras and 700 external analytics cameras were installed across the 30 stores, covering critical areas and perimeters. Each store was equipped with dual redundant NVR systems using RAID data protection to safeguard data, along with dedicated workstations for security and technical teams. For software and connectivity, LILIN provided PC-based video management software with customizable permissions, supported by a dedicated Layer 2 network for stable, high-speed data transfer. A centralized VMS platform enabled unified monitoring across all stores, while integration with Active Directory streamlined user permission management, enhancing system security.
This solution delivered substantial operational and financial benefits. The new framework standardized security systems across all stores, enabling real-time monitoring through a central control room, significantly improving overall security and strengthening access control. Financially, a unified supply framework optimized procurement costs, extended the average lifespan of equipment, and reduced maintenance and technical support expenses through centralized management, while eliminating inefficiencies associated with multi-vendor coordination. Additionally, LILIN assigned a dedicated service manager to oversee Trony’s needs, accelerating issue resolution and the adoption of new features.
Technical advancements were equally impressive. LILIN integrated video analytics with alarm systems using “behavioral judgment technology” to enhance event detection accuracy, simplifying coordination with security firms and enabling rapid emergency responses. Centralized data management ensured prompt handling of critical incidents, while the scalable system design provided flexibility for future store expansions. Innovative features included the integration of video analytics with sensor technology, unified user management via Active Directory, and QR code and barcode order processing integrated into the VMS, optimizing operational workflows and improving tracking efficiency.
Gruppo Trony expressed high satisfaction with the system’s uniformity and reliability. Direct collaboration with a single manufacturer eliminated the inefficiencies of multi-vendor management, significantly reducing equipment failures and technical issues. The centralized framework not only enhanced operational efficiency but also provided the flexibility and scalability needed for future business growth.
